Ms. Murthy has served on the board of directors at PagerDuty since 2019. She serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Varo Bank, where she leads the company’s technology vision, driving scalable and secure digital banking solutions focused on financial inclusion and customer-centric design.
Prior to Varo, Rathi served as President and CTO of Expedia Services at Expedia Group, where she played a key role in evolving the company’s platform strategy, overseeing data, AI, e-commerce, and payments. She led efforts to unify Expedia’s tech stack and helped launch products like its AI-powered travel assistant, Romie.
Rathi’s career includes roles such as CTO at Verizon Media, where she advanced global tech strategy and innovations in 5G infrastructure, and CTO at Gap Inc., where she led digital transformation across multiple brands. She also held senior technology leadership roles at American Express, helping expand digital payments and commerce platforms.
In addition to her executive leadership, Rathi is an active investor and advisor in the tech startup ecosystem, with a focus on companies disrupting traditional models through emerging technologies—particularly generative AI. She also serves as an advisor to the University of San Francisco.
